(Mark 4:26-29 ESV)
How can the kingdom of God be like a man sowing some seed and he lies down and the seeds sprout?
I don't get it.
So I went here and gained insight. :) So nice to be able to do that.
Anyways, the kingdom of God is like how we don't really understand how a seed grows. We know that we plant it and that water and heat cause it to grow, but the true mystery of how it grows eludes us. For instance, one seed will immediately take off and another will grow more slowly. I see this with my rabbits as well.. why do some grow well and others don't? it is a mystery. I can call it genetics, but how does it really all play out?
That's how the kingdom of God is. Seeds are planted, scattered about. We don't SEE them growing, but then suddenly we'll see signs of growth and maturity and the kingdom of God expands.
It's rather neat actually. :)
I was looking at my son's tadpoles yesterday and I found it fascinating how some of them have these big heads on them, and others have these much smaller heads.... some are just growing more quickly. They all have access to the same environment, so why are some doing better than others? Seriously, only God knows.
When his people are ready....the kingdom of God will be at hand....The harvest is come!
THAT is the kingdom of God at play.
