Paul said...I see Jesus Christ and him crucified.
People don't really know how to explain Christ risen from the dead.
They don't know how to explain that people saw him risen from the dead....and by people who didn't expect him to do so.
Jesus did not deserve death. He stood in our place, paying the price justice demanded.
What is justification?
It is a word easily used but not really understood.
It is important, vitally important to understand.
It is an act of God to declare a person righteous in his sight.
It means that God is saying we are meeting God's own standards for us.
Jesus tells us that all have failed to meet God's standards (all have fallen short)
Jesus paid the the price we owed (redeemed us)
He died for us to make us right (propitiation)
What is the evidence that Jesus actually paid the price for us?
If Jesus had remained dead it would have meant he died a cursed death, and therefore his death is meaningless.
Jesus gained for us eternal life in God.
He defeated that eternal punishment for our sin.
Jesus continues to work on our behalf.
My risen saviour continues to intercede on my behalf.
He is my risen Lord sitting at God's right hand side, helping, guiding, interceding.
raised up for my justification.
declared just before God.
redeemed by Jesus for our salvation
