9 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 10 "Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan, 11 then you shall select cities to be cities of refuge for you, that the manslayer who kills any person without intent may flee there. 12 The cities shall be for you a refuge from the avenger, that the manslayer may not die until he stands before the congregation for judgment. 13 And the cities that you give shall be your six cities of refuge. 14 You shall give three cities beyond the Jordan, and three cities in the land of Canaan, to be cities of refuge. 15 These six cities shall be for refuge for the people of Israel, and for the stranger and for the sojourner among them, that anyone who kills any person without intent may flee there.
Anyways, I was reading about these cities of refuge and remembering how Christ is written and foretold in all of the Old Testament, and it made me think of how Christ is my refuge.
He is the refuge of all who believe in the God of the bible.
For under the law we are all guilty. For it says in Matthew 5
Christ is that place for us oh believer. HE is that place. He stands between us and the wrath of God. That's what he does.
Isn't that cool?
Isn't it great to know that we have a refuge, a place we can turn in all our guiltiness.
EVEN THOUGH sometimes we do that we which aught not to ON PURPOSE, if we confess it, God is ever so faithful and he will forgive us, because his son already paid the price for our guilt, for my guilt.
It's paid for.
All my angry moments, all my "i don't want to moments", all my "protect myself at all costs moments", all my "going against the will of God moments.".
It's all covered whether by accident or on purpose... Jesus' blood is my refuge and I can always run to him. ALWAYS.
Isn't that just the greatest thing? Think on it for a moment. Dwell there.
I have refuge. You have refuge.
God provided.
