Since dad was sick the lad and I decided to get out of the house on Friday. We went to see the movie "rise of the guardians".
Good movie.
Would NOT recommend it for the easily frightened or given to nightmares type of child. Simply wouldn't. BUT for a child who likes action, who likes to see the good guys win over the bad guys, this is a good movie.
NOW.. do we believe in Santa, the tooth fairy, sandman and all that? No
In this household we believe in God and know that all good things come from him. BUT this movie was a good introduction to the lad on some of the things that other parents teach their children to believe in. Even if it's silly stuff.
I did like how they broke down what the Core ideas were for the good guys. Santa is wonder, Tooth fairy is memories, Easter bunny - new beginnings and I can't remember what Sandman is....hope I think. It was interesting watching Jack Frost grow into his position and recognize his own frailties.

The Lad's response
I liked it mom. Though I wish that one of the children could have dreamed about a Spider FBI person coming to help fight the bad guy.
