as a way to keep organized and somewhat focused I put together a basic menu plan for the year. Today is ... have whatever sandwich you want for lunch today. The lad experimented. he made a spider sandwich. :) Mom, it's tastes pretty good! You want one too?

to my goal of 40 lbs weight loss.
Would be nice eh? I am NOT going to stress over it though. I do need to buy more fruit for the house, but I've loads of canned fruit that needs to be eaten so I'd may as well use it up. :) I am simply going to us MyFitnessPal to track calories. I won't be as precise as hubby dear is, but I've watched my family for years stress about losing weight and that so totally put me off worrying on it, that I simply refuse to do so. I've also watched my hubby worry on it for the past two years and it drives me mad. :) God will allow what he allows and the rest will fall to the wayside...hopefully in this case it will be the weight falling to the wayside. :) Jim's knee is slowly getting better, he's itching to go bike riding but it's foggy this morning. He just got up and is going out for a bike ride.
My lad just got up in a happy talkative mood. (pretty normal thing for him). Went to the NGBTS picnic (a not going back to school picnic). It's a time to get together with other local homeschoolers. It was a good time. They had a freebie table which I always appreciate. :) Picked up some Canada stuff as well as some things for young homeschooler I'm hoping to visit next week. It was a wet day, but the lad had fun. :) The lad returned from his visit with Gramma. He had an excellent time and brought home a spider and a bunch of baby grasshoppers. Today we are going to the Creation Ministries Open House. it's from 1-4. they have a goodie bag, a time of teaching for the children and a time for adults. It ends up being a fairly good day overall. Today I was busy all day long. Not a bad thing that. :) AND GOOD NEWS! After 1.5 weeks my poor sprained toe is able to move independently again. Still hurts, still have NO desire to go for a long walk, still like to get off it when I can, but... it's doing well. I'm pleased. :) Back to what I did yesterday. I sold two guinea pigs. Joyce and Blaze went to a new home. Both are in the mid-stages of pregnancy but I simply didn't want them anymore and September is the time to sell adult guinea pigs. I had picked up some free hay the other day, I had bagged what I wanted and put up the rest on freecycle so a nice lady came by yesterday and she took 90% of it. i did alot of work on the bookroom. This is the room that we do MOST of our homeschooling in. Yesterday I focused on getting all of last years papers put into binders and away. This got rid of three boxes of things. I put up the flannelgraph to give away on the homeschool group and it's going to a church to be used as part of a children's ministry. WOOT WOOT one less thing in the house. Would have liked using it with the lad for homeschool but the stupid cats peed on the flannelgraph pictures. Displeased I was with them. In the evening I sat down and watched some TV with hubby dear. Got a bit freaked out by the show and said "I'm going to have nightmares about this one." I didn't have nightmares but I certainly had odd dreams.... and that's about it...oh.. i did take pictures of rabbits and guinea pigs. this fellow is a rescue and needs a home ASAP Some guinea pigs for sale And then of course some wee babies
So Hubby and I are enjoying some quiet time. Nice to do that.
Friday we ran some errands in London. Sold rabbits, groceries, etc. Just had a nice day together doing stuff. OH.. also visited with a young lady I haven't seen in quite sometime so that was nice to do. Saturday I got some hay. WOOT WOOT! I got it before the price completely skyrocketed. :) We also got the trailer put away and some yard work done. In the evening we went fishing. Jim caught two small fish. Sunday Chuch. Jim preached an excellent morning sermon. In the afternoon we went fishing in Bayfield where we saw Lori and Marcus and ha d brief chat. Monday .. when I came down to do devotions Jim skyped me. His knee is out (I'm hoping it will go back in before I get in from doing the bunnies). He is wearing his knee brace now and has a crutch for later on when he decides to get up. He's going to try to sleep more first. Pain is not a good thing. Prayer would be appreciated. So I'm not sure he's going to shave off this facial hair thing he's got going since holidays..... it's a bit thicker and fuller since this pic was taken. |
