I received this book a while back, free on Kindle. I've spent the last week or so reading it.
It was overall a good read. It really was. It got a bit preachy at times, but overall it was well written and the spiritual aspects of it fit well with the book.
I appreciated very much how both protagonists had things they needed to learn. Too often it is one sided, both learned and grew in their knowledge of the Lord.
One of my favourite quotes of the book was this:

Faith isn't grounded on emotions. It's grounded on the will. It's grounded in the act of taking up your cross and following the Lord wherever He leads, through good times and bad, through dark days and happy ones.
Well developed characters, solid story line, faith being shown in real life and how difficult it can be to sort it out, how our actions affect those around us, good historical detail, it was a good read. Recommend it for most anyone to read. :)
