(Ezekiel 1:1-3 ESV)
Ezekiel is there and the heavens opened up. He saw visions of God.
Isn't that a great expression? The heavens were opened up!
King Jehoiachin has been exiled. Ezekiel is a priest, he is the son a Buzi and he is living in the land of the Chaldeans.
The hand of the Lord is upon Ezekiel, there along the Chebar canal.
hmm... I sit here and I think.. imagine that you are just there, doing your thing, living in exile and then suddenly you see visions of God. That would just be such a shock.
But Ezekiel heeded those visions, he heeded the Word of the Lord. And spoke , at least I assuming he spoke or lived out what the Lord bid him too, otherwise we wouldn't 'have the book of Ezekiel would we? :)
