The Topic Today is Here.
Here. That's the question. Am I here OR am I somewhere else?
When my son talks with me, do I have my attention on him, or is it somewhere else?
When God asks something of me, am I here or am I somewhere else?
Just where oh where is my focus?
As I write this I'm also listening to a talk on Charlotte Mason homeschooling. So I'm kinda here, but I'm also kinda there. Is that the most effective way of doing things? Does it add up to a lot of distraction?
The thing about raising a child is the need to really be here. To not be distracted by the other things in life...the computer, my desire to get things done, my job, or my...whatever. Being HERE is what my son needs. He needs to know that mom is paying attention, that the things that are important to him are important enough to me to really pay attention to him as he interacts with me in his playtime.
Let me today... be HERE.
